About Us & History of KKB
Kelab Kidurong Bintulu (KKB) was established on 11 November 1982 during commissioning of MLNG Sdn Bhd. The oil and gas community in Bintulu back then was predominantly expatriates that worked for MLNG, ABF and the offshore projects. KKB served as a leisure and social gathering place for the expatriate community.
After years of stable operations of MLNG, local staff took over from the expatriates. KKB had large change in members from predominately expatriates to locals. MLNG continued to fund KKB to the benefit of its Corporate Clients and employees, who makes the largest chunk of KKB members. Additional facilities and buildings were added to KKB as a result of MLNG’s support.
Over the years, in spirit of bringing together the oil and gas community in Bintulu, MLNG invited associate companies such as SMDS, ABF, Sarawak Shell and PCSB to join KKB. Executive members from these companies were appointed to the Executive Committee of the club. KKB has been the venue to organize major corporate events for MLNG and the other oil and gas companies.
